This up-and-coming womens brand makes my favorite leather bag, and it’s less than half what I normally pay

For the price, Cuyana is one of the best value buys I think you could make for leather bags. Cuyana In the same way that some people feel driven to spend their time looking for the Loch Ness monster to prove it's real, I like to look for affordable, high-quality clothes in neutral colors that the average person can afford.
Recently, I stumbled upon exactly that when I found .
The mission Cuyana is founded upon is one I can definitely get behind: "fewer, better" things for a better, leaner closet. Declutter, keep the good stuff, buy nicer things and buy fewer of them. It's what we all try — or want — to do, right? Thanks to scientific studies, we know that decluttering makes us feel good.
What that mission translates to in a brand is high quality and simplicity, with an emphasis on repeated wearability. And because you have to be able to afford the pieces if you're going to use them as your closet staples, Cuyana is also very affordable for their quality.
For me, they nailed the mission of getting me to want to invest in "fewer, better" things and spend marginally more money in one spot (their shop) instead of spreading it out in many, which is not easy for anyone to do. All of my Cuyana productsfeelsimplistic while deceptively pretty, complicated, or innovative alterations allude to the fact that the construction of my simplistic garments was anything but simplistic in itself.
I have the in a soft blush called "rose" and a . While the quality and thinness of the crewneck made it a worthy essential in its own right, it's Cuyana's leather collection that shines the brightest. Their bags come in convenient sizes, better colors, and are at pretty unbelievable prices.

If I lost mine, I would likely buy it again and in the same color without much wincing. Two other team members, Ellen and Connie, have also had experiences with Cuyana leather (one with the and and one with the ), and both agreed that the quality of the leather and knock-out simplicity of the design are standouts. We also agreed that color was necessary to mention.
Cuyana's Small Carryall Tote retails for 5 and comes in six colors. Cuyana
My bag is the small carryall tote in "Sunshine" — and it's probably the nicest pale, buttercup yellow I've seen. It's perfect for summer, it goes with almost all of my seasonal wear, and it seems from years of shopping that it's hard to find someone who has really gotten a yellow right — so when you do, you suspend ultimate functionality.
From what I've come across so far, Cuyana has some of the best leather goods in terms of sizes, colors, and definitely value for price — if not the best — on the market right now.Until now, my favorite leather bag was easily over two times the cost of my Cuyana small carryall, and though that leather might feel thicker or more buttery, I will not be paying that added cost going forward. The price is one reason why that is, and the other two reasons are the perfect small, tapered style that's just big enough for more essentials than a clutch but not as massive as a tote. Plus, I think Cuyana has nailed the colors women want in their accessories — probably because their brand is built upon making wardrobe staples.
Cuyana's Mini Tassel Bag retails for 0 and comes in three colors. Cuyana
What I mean by that is that most women do not want loud colors or patterns in the accessories they plan to rely on every day. We have "fun" accessories for that, but for the carryall bag we likely spend way too much money on? Fewer women want that in a tone that is bound to clash; your purse is only as convenient and functional as the number of outfits it can be paired with. Thanks to their mindset of "fewer, better" Cuyana has understood wearability at a foundational level and intentionally built upward and around this idea, so that women may wear their creations as often as they possibly want.
One way that Cuyana "gets it" is by having multiple color options that fall into the category of "nude" — that neutral, chameleon skill so many women want. Instead of just one nude, they fleshed out a popular choice to be more of a spectrum to allow women more options.
There are subtle distinctions like "sable" for a cooler tone and "blush" for a warmer one. Even their browns (another dependable staple) are well-developed, with an option like "honey" that has the sort of luminescent, rich, buttery color that looks expensive and deep and makes you think of the word "equestrian" organically. On the other hand, there's a cooler, more mellow "vachetta" if that's the neutral brown you need.
Their Instagram is littered with natural sunlight, next to no filters, and a total thematic emphasis on how to bring out the overt quality and tone of their creations, exactly like a museum does. It's about how best to show you Cuyana in real life, not to sex it up enough to sell.
And in keeping with the overall mission of helping you stock your closet with the few clothes you actually want instead of the thousands you can't get rid of, Cuyana has an incentive program to donate and get money back on your next purchase. Here's how it works:
- Select "lean shipping" at checkout
- Get a reusable bag in the mail from Cuyana. Fill it up with items that aren't "helping you live your most beautiful life" or those that aren't "bringing you joy" as Marie Kondo would say
- Mail the bag of clothes back to Cuyana with the included shipping label
- Your unneeded clothes will be donated to their non-profit partner, H.E.A.R.T., which gives that same clothing directly to women who need new clothes for their fresh start.
