Sob! After seven seasons of tangled mysteries, philandering husbands and salacious secrets producers have confirmed the eighth series of Desperate Houswives will be the last.

‘The only thing harder than creating a hit television show is knowing when to end it,’ executive producer Marc Cherry revealed over the weekend at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills.
‘Because I have been working in television for 23 years, I am very aware of people overstaying their welcome.’
‘I wanted to go out when the network still saw us as a viable show and doing well in ratings,’ an emotional Cherry said, adding that the cast were already aware of the decision.’
The dark comedy premiered in 2004 and instantly became an international hit, making superstars of the female leading cast Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria, who earned up to 0,000 per episode.
Fan’s worldwide became hooked on the twisted and funny events that rocked suburban Wisteria Lane and the sharp and witty female characters changed the perception of middle- aged actresses.
